Dr. Poland is a native of Kingston, Tennessee and graduated from medical school from the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1982. He performed his ophthalmology residency at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. After completion of his residency, Dr. Poland was awarded a prestigious fellowship in corneal disorders and refractive surgery at the Louisiana State University Eye Center, New Orleans recognized as a world leader in patient care, medical education, and in research to preserve and restore vision.

Kris F. Gillian, M.D. is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas. He earned his BA from Emory University and was awarded an academic scholarship while graduating from the University of Arkansas with a degree in medicine. Dr. Gillian completed his medical internship at the University of Tennessee and his ophthalmology residency in Pittsburgh. During his residency, Dr. Gillian traveled to Samara, Russia to perform a surgical mission at the hospital of the late Dr. Svyatoslav Fyodorov, known as the "Father of Radial Keratotomy."
Dr. Gillian is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing in the Atlanta area since 2001. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology. |
Dickie McMullan, MD offers 30 years of experience helping her patients improve their vision, at the same time decreasing their dependency on glasses and contact lenses. Dr. Frank Winski joined Georgia Eye Associates in 1998. He has extensive experience meeting the needs of families. His practice includes evaluating school aged children who may need glasses all the way up to the needs of an older adult that is developing cataracts or macular degeneration. He enjoys fitting people of all ages for contact lenses and has developed particular expertise in hard-to-fit conditions such as keratoconus, corneal transplants, and presbyopia.

Dr. Brian A. Kahn, a native of Atlanta, has been in practice in Atlanta for the past 24 years. He is a fourth generation optometrist who specializes in several areas. They include pre/post LASIK, keratoconus, dry eye disease, glaucoma, diabetic and hypertensive eye disease as well as contact lenses.
Dr. Kahn is a graduate of Pace Academy in Atlanta and earned his BA from the University of Texas, Austin. He completed his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee and interned at Omni Eye Services in Atlanta. Dr. Rabitsch provides care in the areas of ocular disease, contact lenses, and family practice optometry. In June 2011, she was among the first 500 doctors in the country to complete the rigorous process of Board Certification by the American Board of Optometry. As a Diplomate of the ABO, Dr. Rabitsch is committed to excellence and lifelong learning in the field of optometry. In 2006, she received the distinction of Young Optometrist of the Year by her colleagues in the over six-hundred member Georgia Optometric Association. From 2004 to 2006, Dr. Rabitsch served as the 9th district president of the Georgia Optometric Association.
Currently, Dr. Rabitsch mentors as part of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry's Doctor-Student Mentor Program. While at UAB, she was an active member of the Beta Sigma Kappa academic honor society and the Fellowship of Christian optometrists. |
A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. Melanie Peeler completed her undergraduate studies at the College of Charleston and graduated cum laude with a B.S. in biology and a minor in psychology. She received one of two scholarships awarded each year to South Carolina residents to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree.
Dr. Peeler participated in four international missions with Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH), providing eye care to undeserved areas in Honduras and Colombia. An officer in many organizations, she was also a member of Gold Key and Beta Sigma Kappa, honor societies for leadership and academic achievement. |

Ophthalmologist and Emory Retina Specialist, Dr. Jiong Yan, comes to Georgia Eye Associates as a vitreo-retinal consultant. Patients with diabetes, glaucoma and other eye conditions can now see their ophthalmologist and retina specialist at one convenient location at our Lawrenceville office.
